Danes Cast Fishery - Newry, Northern Ireland

About Danes Cast Fishery

John and Margaret O'Hare

Danes Cast Fishery is set in the town land of Knockanarney on the ancient site of the Danes Cast Earthwork. The fishery has an exceptional view of Drumbanagher C.O.I. parish church and the hills of the surrounding countryside of South Armagh. Danescast Fishery is owned and run by the O Hare family who have lived on the farm for many generations.

The fishery offers fly-fishing in three lakes; purpose built, spring fed lakes. The lower lake can accommodate up to 16 fishing guests and is fished from fly-casting platforms located around the lake. The upper lake is newly constructed and is still developing as a single bank fishery for up to six fishing guests.

The fishery is situated directly beside the Belfast to Dublin railway line ... so watch out for us as you pass by on the train!

Both lakes are regularly stocked with “hand selected”, hard fighting rainbow trout and steelhead / rainbow crosses. Danes Cast Fishery welcomes individual anglers and groups of anglers alike.

John O'Hare is a National Angling Guide and is available on site for tuition.

Limited numbers of rods are available, so please, contact us before you start your journey as this may save any disappointment.
